In
Window XP, Security Accounts Management (SAM) database stores hashed copies of
user passwords. To keep the SAM database secure, Window requires that the
password hashes are encrypted. SAM database is encrypted with a locally stored
system key. SysKey utility can additionally secure the SAM database by moving
the SAM database encryption key off the Windows-based computer. The SysKey
utility can configure a start-up password that must be entered to decrypt the
system key so that Windows can access the SAM database.
Syskey
password is the powerful security mechanism
we have in windows platform. Because its has the 128 bit encryption.
To break Syskey password we are
going to use
HIREN
BOOT Tool.
1.Boot
your system with Hiren Boot.
2.After
booting you have a Hiren Boot main console where we find many options, firstly
we have to choose option 9, then option 5, then select option 2, then click on
OK and again click on OK.
3.So
it createa R drive (for RAM space)

cd windows (change your directory to Windows directory)

cd repair

(type following commands on repair directory location)

copy samd:\windows\system32\config (it will prompt to change the existing file)
